Project Overview Creating a Healthy Cookbook Working in committees, students will design the cover, write the introduction, organize a table of contents, and reformat their recipes for a class book. Students will be reading and writing about why it is important to make healthy choices. They will discover how and why fitness is part of a healthy lifestyle.

Reading A Trip to the Emergency Room Materials Needed Treasures book Comprehension Packet Noise Level 1 • Tuesday • Read A Ride to Help and Time for an X-Ray on pages 220 and 221 to learn your vocabulary words. • Wednesday • Focus: Vocabulary and Sequencing • Read A Trip to the Emergency Room on pages 222-225. • Thursday • Focus: Homophones • Finish reading A Trip to the Emergency Room on pages 222-225 • Start the comprehension packet • Friday • Complete the comprehension packet on A Trip to the Emergency Room. • Read A Visit to the Dentist on pages 226. Project Connection Staying Fit

Self-Selected Reading/Accelerated Reader • I Can • Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension Noise Level 0 Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. Silently read . After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test. Record your AR score in your Data Binder. • Materials Needed • Data binder • Book of choice
