  1. Facility Upgrade Status at SSL, UCB Sharon R Jelinsky • Small Prototype Systems • 33mm Demountable Detector Body Parts arrived, cleaned. • 33mm Demountable Detector Test Flange at machining. • Dual Test Chamber has hardware needed for above flange. • Dual Test Chamber vacuum systems on order: • Scroll rough pump on order • Turbo pump controller on order (we have a TMP 150) • Turbo air cooling system to be designed and built • Convectron guages arrived and ready for installation • High Vacuum gauges on order • Large Format Process Chamber • Design of vacuum chamber nearing completion.

  2. S R Jelinsky – PSEC Tuesday Meeting Flexible 33mm MCP Photon CountingDemountable Detector Body Top Clamp Plate • All the body parts are complete, ultra-sonically cleaned and ready for fit test and assembly. • All Stack parts now in house. • MCP’s need to be identified and cleaned prior to use. • Design of 4.5” CF flange for demountable detector mounting is complete. • A total of three 4.5” CF flanges are in process at machine shop. Compression Spacers Compression Spring Pressure Pad Φ33mm MCPs RT/Duroid Spacer PEEK Body Base Plate

  3. J. McPhate – PSEC Collaboration Meeting Cross Section of Assembled Demountable When complete, the 33mm MCP demountable detector assembly will mount within a machined 4.5” conflat flange with a cross-delay anode mounted flush on the flange base. There are electrical feedthroughs for HV and anode signals, 4 SHV’s to control gap voltages and 4 SMA anode signals. PEEK parts (yellow) sandwich the base plate for rear field stand-off and hold down. This style detector is very useful for rapid MCP restacking and optimizing.

  4. J. McPhate – PSEC Collaboration Meeting Demountable Photon Counting ImagingDetector Easily Tested 4.5” Conflat Flange Demountable System is easily mounted to any 4.5” Conflat port on our test chambers. Our Dual Chamber system will be outfitted with two 8” to 4.5” CF reducer flanges.

  5. Update on Dual Chamber Test Station Our Dual Chamber system is in several stages of completeness. • Each chamber has independent roughing and hivac valves  uninterrupted testing of one detector while the other is swapped. • Valves work and chambers hold vacuum. • Already outfitted with UV transmissive windows. • 8” to 4.5” CF reducer flanges and viton o-rings are ready for use. • 4.5” CF flanges are ready for machining into three Demountable assembly flanges. • Dry Scroll Pump for rough vacuum is due soon. • Turbo Pump is in house, needs air cooling. • Turbo Pump Controller is on order. • High Vac gauges are on order, convectron gauges are here and ready to be installed.
