  3. Magnum PI • Magnum was a private investigator with an interesting living arrangement. In return for helping with the securityarrangements for guarding the estate of wealthy writerRobin Masters (never seen on the show),

  4. he was providedwith free living quarters at the rambling beachfrontproperty on Oahu's north shore. Masters was always away,leaving his stuffy British manservant, Higgins, to runthe estate.

  5. The laid-back life-style of Magnum was indirect opposition to the strict military dicpiline thatruled Higgins' life, and there was constant bickeringbetween them, though there was clearly adeep-seated mutual affection.

  13. The show starred Ted Knight and Nancy Dussault as Henry and Muriel Rush, owners of a duplex in San Francisco. Henry was a cartoonist who authored a comic strip called Cosmic Cow.

  14. Muriel was a freelance photographer, having been a band singer in her earlier days. They had two grown daughters. Jackie (Deborah Van Valkenburgh) worked for a bank, while the younger Sara (Lydia Cornell) was attending college
