  2. Non-indigenous Relationships • Early settler experiences • Increased population • Industrialisation • Nation Building

  3. To show a higher level of understanding you need to • link perceptions to the interactions • Introduction of species to make more like Europe • link impacts to relationships - Their relationship was based around little regard for the NE, this was demonstrated in the devastating impacts of this time on the NE such as water pollution, a large decrease in biodiversity. There was no effort made to eliminate of fix the impacts that were being made as they were too concerned with making a profit

  4. link other aspects of life to relationships - Art and poetry and how it reflects Rs • compare and contrast different periods to each other • Use primary and secondary sources to support statements and analysis that you have made • Gerry / DSE • Gratten Mullet • Cape Paterson • Wonthaggi Coal mine • Solider Settlements • Rail Network

  5. How do we do this • Solo Taxonomy • Compare indigenous perceptions and use of fire to those of the early settlers perceptions and use of fire • What level of thinking would this question require you to work at?

  6. Nation Building • Discuss how a nation building project influenced and reflected realtionships with outdoor environments

  7. Industrialisation • Discuss how the Industrialisation period influenced relationships with outdoor environments

  8. Past SAC questions • Describe an environment that you have visited this year as it would have been prior to human habitation • Compare an environment that you have visited this year in the following time frames • Before human habitation • Increased population

  9. List four words that demonstrate the perceptions of early indigenous people • Describe one interaction used by early indigenous Australians at the Knob. Discuss why they did this, the impacts that were caused and analyze how these interactions related to the perceptions and relationship with the natural environment. Use specific evidence from our trip to the knob to support this

  10. Describe the role that contemporary indigenous people play in the passing on knowledge and protecting indigenous culture • Explain how the interactions of contemporary indigenous people reflect an overall change in the relationships Indigenous people have had with natural environments.

  11. Compare the perceptions of the land of early indigenous Australians and the notion of terra nullius • Discuss the impacts of a specific introduced species brought to Australia during early settlers times • Discuss the benefits of Coal mining to the township of Wonthaggi, use specific examples from our visit to the coal mine.

  12. Analyse the role that art (poetry, paintings, song etc.) Has played in demonstrating the changing perceptions and relationships of the natural environment over time.

  13. Outline an environmental movement that occurred in Australia, providing details of what occurred during the conflict • Describe the historical development of an environmental movement and explain how it has changed human relationships with the natural environment. • Explain why environmental movements have begun to occur more frequently in Australia
