About Texprocil • Established in the year 1954 and this is the oldest Export Promotion Council in India, having over 2500 Members • Promotes the entire range of Indian Cotton, Cotton yarns, Fabrics and Made-ups / Home Textiles. TEXPROCIL is the one-stop solution for sourcing Indian Cotton Textiles. • Organizes Group Participation in Trade Fairs/Exhibitions, Buyer Seller Meets (BSM), visit of Trade Delegations and Receiving Overseas Delegation.

Indian Textile Manufacturing Value Chain India is one of the few textile manufacturing countries in the world where all levels of textile value chain i.e. from fiber/ filament to garment/made-ups manufacturing are present. In contrast, countries like Bangladesh, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Ethiopia and Cambodia have fragmented value chains; mostly focused on end-product and dependency on the other countries for fabric and yarn.

  7. Production Capacity • In the Cotton year 2016-17, India has produced 5,967 Mn Kgs of Cotton • Cotton drives growth both in Yarn and Fabrics production

  9. Advantage India India today has emerged as the most competitive manufacturer of Cotton Textiles. Major Advantages in India are: Cotton Advantage India is the second largest producer of Cotton in the World and the volume of production is always in surplus to spinning capacity Skilled Manpower Advantage Large number of Technical Schools, participation of workers in quality circle, 5S programs and worker’s contribution towards process improvements helps the Indian Textile Mills to operate machines at highest speeds and efficiencies Spinning Advantage India has the world class spinning sector and the Spinners maintain excellent quality culture to supply high quality yarns round the year. Knitting Advantage Indian Knitting factories which are an integral part of Spinning Mills enjoy several advantages including cost of in-process inventory, reduced logistic cost and hence competitive cost of production Weaving Advantage Indian weavers operate looms at high speeds and efficiencies besides 24 X 7 X 360 days to keep the capital costs low

India & Uzbekistan – Textiles & Clothing Trade during 2017 • Trade in Textiles & Clothing: Uzbekistan imported US$ 496.56 million worth of Textiles & Clothing products during the period Jan-Dec 2017 out of which India (rank 6) exported US$ 4.43 million worth of T&C into Uzbekistan commanding a share of less than one per cent. China (74%), Turkey (11%), Italy (4%), Russia (3%) and South Korea (2.5%) were the top 5 suppliers. • Trade in Cotton Textiles: Uzbekistan imported US$ 62.50 million worth of Cotton Textile products during the period Jan-Dec 2017 out of which India (rank 7) exported US$ 1.08 million worth of T&C into Uzbekistan commanding a share of around two per cent. China (68%), Turkey (16%), South Korea (5%), Russia (3%) and Italy (2.5%) were the top 5 suppliers. • Trade in Cotton Textiles (Product-wise): An analysis of product-wise imports shows that Cotton Fabrics dominate the cotton textiles import market with a share of 74.05% followed by Cotton Madeups with a share of 22.03%
