  4. Short Sleeve Uniform (SSU) • Most Basic Uniform –warmer weather • What you will be issued: • 2 Short sleeve blue shirts • 2 Pairs of light blue dress slacks • Belt • Cover • Soft rank • Plastic name tag • 2 Pairs of black dress socks • Pair of black dress shoes • White v-neck undershirt

  5. How to Wear the SSU • Creases • Shoulder rank “grounded” • Gig-Line straight • Cable-free • Nametag centered • Cover two finger-tips from nose • Optional Tie or Tie-Tab

  6. Caring for Your Uniform • Keep it clean • Wrinkle Free • Creases • Shirt • Slacks • Shoes

  7. Long Sleeve Uniform (LSU) • Colder Days • Long sleeve blue shirt • Tie/Tie-tab is mandatory

  8. Tying a Tie in the Military • Tips of tie-tab must be pointing straight down • Tie must end at your belt buckle • Double Windsor

  10. Service Dress Uniform (SDU) • Dark blue service coat • DO NOT IRON • DRY CLEAN • U.S. pins • Ribbons • No nametag • Worn for more formal LLABs • Modified Service Dress

  12. Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) • Will be Issued 2nd Semester • Work Uniform

Airman Battle Uniform (ABU) • ABU is the new Uniform for the USAF • ABU Blouse and pants are worn with: • ABU cap • Sand colored crew neck T-shirt • Sage/Green boots and socks • Sand colored belt • ABU wear: • Name tapes are the same as on BDU’s sewn on with same color thread (USAF flush over the left pocket, Name flush over the right pocket • No other badges or patches are to be worn • Pants are bloused in same manner as BDU • ABU should be clean and clear of rips and loose strings at all times • All pockets should be buttoned at all times (look professional) • ABU is wash and wear DO NOT dry clean, starch, or hot press ABU's

  14. Physical Training Uniform (PTU) • Consists of: • 2 Gray reflective shirts • 2 Pairs of blue shorts • Athletic Shoes • How to wear it • Clean • Shirt tucked in • Shoelaces • Worn all the time at PT

  15. Boots and Shoes • Hardest part of uniform • Prevention is key • Supplies • Shoe Polish • Water • Applicator (Sock, shirt, cotton balls) • Patience

  16. Shining Methods • STRIP FACTORY FINISH • Focus on toe and heel • Standard Method • Takes a long time • Risk Free • Coffee Pot Method • Can ruin base coats • Fire Shining • Can ruin the shoe • Create mirror-like shine

  17. Tips and Tricks • Get everything dry-cleaned • Not like the army, no crease on the back • Carefully hang and store the uniforms • Be cautious when wearing the uniform
