  4. Lesson 3: Practicing Citizenship Principles of Government Representative Government:this means that the citizen vote for officials who serve the will of the people. Federal System:government which divides power between central and state government. It is divided into three equal parts or branches.

  5. Legislative Branch: it is known as US congress. It passes laws for the whole country Executive Branch: includes the president. The president and another members ensure that national’s laws are carried out Judicial Branch: includes the Supreme Court. It uses the constitution to interpret laws.

  7. What is citizenship? The idea of civic participation comes from ancient Greece and Rome. Good Citizens helps our government and communities work as well as possible. Rights of citizens: All Americans have the right to: seek life, liberty and happiness. freedom to expression Receive a fair trial by a Jury of their peers. Vote for public officers

  8. Duties and responsabilities of Citizenship Duties Obey all federal and local laws Pay taxes Serve on a jury Defend the country and the constitution Responsibilities Stay inform about issues. vote Respect the right and view of others. Be part of their local community.

  9. Being a Global Citizen That means learning about different issues that affect the world as a whole. It also means thinking about how you can make the world a better place by your actions.
