  1. A Day at the Museum Made possible by a grant from EBEF and contributions from the Warnsdorfer PTA

  2. Student Mentors Upper grade students mentored lower grade students in writing personal narratives.

  3. Students looked forward to working with their mentors during Writer’s Workshop.

  4. Mentor students did a fantastic job of teaching writing strategies to the younger students.

  5. ELMO Using ELMO, students were able to project their writing “live” onto the SMARTboard during the workshop.

  6. Student text ELMO technology allowed students to display examples of strategies they used in their writing. This student is sharing the “hook” he developed with the help of his mentor.

  7. Using ELMO, A proud student shows an example of using “sound” words.

  8. Students were thrilled to use ELMO to display their very own writing as the “mentor text” for the workshop.

  9. Student Authors Warnsdorfer’s young authors published their personal narratives for the museum celebration.

  10. Grand Opening November 23, 2010

  11. Classrooms Each room in the Warnsdorfer Writer’s Museum is named.

  12. Younger grades display notes thanking their mentors.

  13. Upper grades display notes describing how the mentor experience helped to improve their own writing.

  14. Students visited rooms in the museum and eagerly read stories.

  15. Students shared a “great story” discovered in one of the museum rooms.

  16. Students wrote comments in each others’ stories.

  17. Huge Success Everyone returned to class excited to read the comments left for them!
