Learning Objectives:After implementing this lesson students will be able to: • Determining the solution of linear equation with one variable with adding both sides of LEOV by the same number. • Determining the solution of linear equation with one variable with substructing both sides of LEOV by the same number. • Determining the solution of linear equation with one variable with multiplying both sides of LEOV by the same number.

Determining the solution of linear equation with one variable with dividing both sides of LEOV by the same number. • Combining the addition, substruction, multiplication, and division method to determine the solution of LEOV. • The characters building:Discipline, respect, diligence and responsibility.

  4. The Methods to Solving LEOV: • Both sides are added by the same number. • Both sides are substructed by the same number. • Both sides are multiplied by the same number. • Both sides are divided by the same number.

  5. Problem Example: (Review addition and substruction method)Determine the value of variable in LEOV below! • 1. 3(x - 3) = 2(x + 9) • Answer: 3x - 9 = 2x + 18 3x -2x - 9 = 2x - 2x + 18 (both sides are substructed by 2x) x - 9 + 9 = 18 + 9 (both sides are added by 9) x = 27

  6. Problem Examples:(for both sides are multiplied or divided by the same number methods)Determine the value of variable in LEOV below! • m = 4 • Answer: m x 5 = 4 x 5 (both sides are multiplied by 5) m = 20

  7. 8x = 16 • Answer: 8x = 16 (both sides are 8 8 divided by 8) x = 2

  8. 3. 2x - 4 = 8 • Answer: 2x – 4 + 4 = 8 + 4 (both sides are added by 4) 2x = 12 2x = 12 (both sides 2 2 are divided by 2) x = 6
