  25. YHVH IN OUR MARRIAGE H376 vya Ish= HUSBAND

  26. H802 hva ISHA= WIFE

  27. vya= HUSBAND hva= WIFE hy = YAH va= CONSUMINGFIRE

  28. TWO STAGES OF THE BIBLICAL MARRIAGE CEREMONY There are two primary stages to the Biblical marriage. The first stage is betrothal and the second stage is the consummation of the marriage. During betrothal you are legally married to your spouse but you do not physically dwell with your mate. Spiritually, whenever we receive Yeshua into our hearts and lives, we are betrothed to Him, our Bridegroom. At this time, we are legally married to Yeshua and are members of the family of Yeshua but we do not physically dwell with Him.

  29. TWO STAGES OF A BIBLICAL MARRIAGE BUT Betrothal = Legally Married Don't Physically Dwell With (Receive Yeshua) Nesu'in = Physically Dwell With (Messianic Era / Heavenly Jerusalem) (Dwell with Yeshua)

  30. TWELVE STEPS IN THE ANCIENT ISRAEL WEDDING CEREMONY The God of Israel gave the various customs, services and ceremonies to the nation of Israel (Romans 3:2, 9:4) to teach us about the future coming of the Messiah (Colossians 2:16-17). This included the Biblical wedding customs. With this in mind, let’s examine the ancient Biblical wedding ceremony which the God of Israel gave to the nation of Israel. The ancient Biblical wedding ceremony which the God of Israel gave to the nation of Israel will teach us about our wedding to the Messiah Yeshua. This wedding ceremony consisted of twelve steps. These twelve steps are as follows:

  31. STEP #1: THE SELECTION OF THE BRIDE In ancient Israel, the bride was usually chosen by the father of the bridegroom. The father would send his most trusted servant, known as the agent of the father, to search out the bride. An excellent example of this can be seen in Genesis 24. In this chapter, Abraham (a type of God the Father) wishes to secure a bride for Isaac (a type of the Messiah) and sends his servant Eliezer(a type of the Holy Spirit / RuachHaKodesh) to do this task (Genesis / Bereishit 24:2-4).

  32. THE NATION OF ISRAEL IS CHOSEN Deuteronomy 7:6 For you are an holy people unto YHVH your God: YHVH your God has chosen you to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 7:7 YHVH did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all people: John 15:16 You have not chosen me (Yeshua) but I have chosen you, and ordained you that you should go and bring forth fruit ...

  33. THE RUACH HAKODESH LEADS US TO MESSIAH It is the role of the Holy Spirit / RuachHaKodesh to convict the world of sin and lead them to Yeshua. In John / Yochanan 16:7-8 it is written: John 16:7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth, It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment

  34. MESSIAH CHOSE AND LOVES HIS BRIDE The bridegroom chose the bride and lavished his love upon her and she returned his love. In the same way, Messiah lavishes His love upon His bride. In Ephesians 5:25 it is written: Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the congregation and gave himself for it.

  35. THE BRIDE OF MESSIAH LOVES HIM Today, the believers in Yeshua the Messiah consent to be married to Him and become His bride even though they have never seen Him. In I Peter / Kefa 1:8 it is written: 1 Peter 1:8 Whom having not seen, you love; in whom, though now you see him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory.

  36. Typology of the Messiah and the Bride in Genesis • ABRAHAM = FATHER (YHVH) • ELIEZER= HELP OF YHVH (spirit) • ISSAC = YESHUA • REBECCA = THE BRIDE • 10 CAMELS = COMPLETION • WATER = OUTPOURING OF SPIRIT • GIFT TO REBECCA = GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT • REBECCA ACCEPTED THE COVENANT WITHOUT EVER MEETING ISAAC • ISAAC MARRIED AT 40 YEARS OLD • REBECCA IS BARREN FOR 20 YEARS (2,000) • REBECCA GIFTS BIRTH WHEN ISAAC IS 60 YEARS OLD

  37. STEP #2: THE BRIDE PRICE WAS ESTABLISHED A price would have to be paid for the bride. The agreed upon price was called amohar in Hebrew.

  38. STEP #2: Yeshua being the believers bridegroom paid a very high price for His Bride. The price He paid was His life. Yeshua considered the price He had to pay for His bride before His death as He went into the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. In Matthew / Mattityahu 26:39 it is written: Matthew 26:39 And he went a little farther and fell on his face, and prayed saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will but as you will.

  39. Ourmohar, the price that Messiah paid for His Bride was His life. In I Peter / Kefa 1:18-19 it is written: 1 Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers [Oral Law]: 1 Peter 1:19 But with the precious blood of Messiah as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.

  40. THE BRIDE LOVES MESSIAH WITH HER LIFE Because Yeshua paid such a high price for us, we ought to return His love by living a holy life before Him and serve Him with all our heart. In I Corinthians 6:20 it is written: 1 Corinthians 6:20 For you are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s

  41. STEP #3: THE BRIDE AND GROOM ARE BETROTHED Betrothal is the first of the two stages of the Biblical marriage. During betrothal, you are legally married to but you do not physically dwell with your bride. Betrothal in Hebrew is known as Kiddushin. Historically, Yeshua betrothed Himself to Israel at Mount Sinai. In Jeremiah / Yermiyahu 2:2 it is written: Jeremiah 2:2Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says YHVH; I remember thee, the kindness of your youth, the love of your espousal [betrothal] when you went after me in the wilderness in a land that was not sown.

  42. THE BRIDE IS BETROTHED TO MESSIAH Hosea 2:19 And I will betroth you unto me forever; yea, I will betroth you unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies. Hosea 2:20 I will even betroth you unto me in faithfulness and you shall know YHVH Spiritually, whenever you accept Yeshua as Messiah into our heart and life, you become betrothed to Him while living on the earth.

  43. CONFESS ROMANS 10:9 That if thou shalt confesswith thy mouth Adonia Yahshua, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

  44. G3670 ὁμολογέω homologeo¯ From a compound of the base of G3674 and G3056; to assent, that is, covenant, acknowledge: - con- (pro-) fess, confession is made, give thanks, promise.

  45. STEP #4: THE BETROTHAL CONTRACT IS WRITTEN When the bride and groom are betrothed to each other, a written contract is drawn up known as a ketubah in Hebrew. The betrothal contract is called a shitre erusin in Hebrew. The ketubah is the marriage contract that states the bride price, the promises of the groom, and the rights of the bride. The groom promises to work for his bride, to honor, support, and maintain her truth, and to provide food, clothing, and the necessities of life.

  46. THE TORAH IS OUR KETUBAH The ketubah is the unalienable right of the bride. Spiritually, the Torah/Word of the God of Israel, the Bible is the believer’s ketubah. All the promises provided for the believers in the Messiah are legally ours. In II Corinthians 1:20 it is written: 2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yes, and in him, Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

  47. STEP #5: THE BRIDE MUST GIVE HER CONSENT When the God of Israel betrothed Himself to Israel at Mount Sinai, the ketubah was the Torah. The children of Israel accepted the terms of the marriage by saying, “I do”. In Exodus / Shemot24:3 it is written: Exodus 24:3 And Moses came and told the people all the words of YHVH, and all the judgments: and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which YHVH has said, we will do”.

  48. WE MUST SAY ‘I DO’ TO YESHUA Spiritually, in order the receive Yeshua as Messiah, you must accept His invitation by saying, “I do”. In Romans 10:9-10 it is written: Romans 10:9 That if you shall confess with your mouth YHVH Yeshua, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

  49. STEP #6: GIFTS ARE GIVEN TO THE BRIDE The rite of betrothal (erusin) is completed when the groom gives something of value to the bride and she accepts it. The gift most often given today is the ring. When the groom places the ring on the bride’s finger, the rite of betrothal is completed. The gifts to the bride are symbols of love, commitment, and loyalty.

  50. THE BRIDE OF MESSIAH IS GIVEN THE RUACH HAKODESH Spiritually, the gift which YHVH gives to those who receive the Messiah is the indwelling Holy Spirit / Ruach HaKodesh. When Yeshua ascended to Heaven following his resurrection, He gave gifts to men. In Ephesians 4:7-8 it is written: Ephesians 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Messiah. Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore, he says, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts to men.
