  5. “What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy,

  6. “whom he prepared in advance for glory—even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? As he says in Hosea, ‘I will call them “my people” who are not my people;

  7. “‘and I will call her “my loved one” who is not my loved one,’ and, ‘It will happen that in the very place where it was said to them, “you are not my people,” they will be called “sons of the living God.”’” Romans 9:22-26 NIV

  13. “God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Acts 2:36 NIV “you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house”

  14. “In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” Ephesians 2:21-22 NIV

  15. “And I tell you, you are Peter [Greek, Petros–a large piece of rock], and on this rock [Greek, petra–a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it [or be strong to its detriment or hold out against it].” Matthew 16:18 Amplified Bible Classic

  16. The Church that Christ is building is not merely a localized group of people but it is a universal Body! So we are a community with a responsibility . . .

  17. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, . . .” “. . . that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

  27. “A deep mourning must be awakened in the heart of the ones betrothed to Him. We fast to remind our hearts that He has been taken away, for we have grown used to His absence. The fasting gives way to mourning and, in mourning,

  28. “we enter the holy cry, ‘Come!’—the cry that all of Scripture presses to leave in our hearts.” Dana Chandler In John 16 Jesus told His disciples that their grief when He leaves would turn to joy when the Spirit comes
