Online Permit Toolbox Background • First Permit Desk Manuals available in 1989 and 1992. • Many changesin federal and state laws, including Subtitle D, AB 1220, Title 27, Tiered Regs… • Permit Desk Manuals rescinded in 1997. • Working group of LEAs, operators, and Board staff drafted Table of Contents, and Draft RDSI Guidance in 1998.

Online Permit Toolbox Project Plan • 1)Research, training, documentation of existing process and resources • 2) Design draft web structure to organize existing resources, navigate permit process, meet objectives and needs. • 3) Build partial working model in order to solicit comments and evaluate potential layouts. • 4) Collect best practices examples (such as permits, terms and conditions, transmittal letters, RFIs…).
