  8. ACTIVITY TIME! • Draw pictures that represent your leadership style without using any words • Have others write descriptive adjectives describing your style based upon the pictures you drew.

Speaker- Career Services • Key • Translate your skills and activities into usable employable attributes • Resume should offer what you have to give not state your demands and expectations • Experience counts • Describe accurately and positively • Think of yourself as a professional taking the first step to participate in the field • Give examples

Use field specific terminology • Use it correctly! • find buzz words from industry professionals • Job description language or company website type language • Relate extra curricular activities to your career goals • Convey what you learned form the experience • Use numbers to portray accomplishments • Use qualifiers “up to” or “approximately”

  11. Control Information • Relevant info such as coursework etc. at top • Have a person in the field review your resume • Take credit for your contributions • Skills like time management – ie balancing school and work

  12. ACTIVITY TIME! • 30 seconds to make your own “commercial” to market yourself • Don’t repeat what's on your resume • Don’t limit yourself to one position • Keep a career portfolio- for interviews • Include letters of recommendation • Certifications, papers etc.
