In order to take it to the next level, we must accept that: • The winds of change are blowing…. • The status quo will not do • We must be innovative and think creatively • We need to have a sense of urgency • The time to go from planning to implementation is here • The current strategic plan is not set in stone • We are allowed to disagree with each other • We must respect each other • The bottom line is student success

Purpose of this Town Hall • To ensure that all are aware of and involved in the strategic planning process for MCCC • To ensure that EVERYONE has an opportunity to provide input for this process • To ensure that all understand that the strategic planning process will be tied directly to the budget

Administrator Workshop Input • Reviewed Current MCCC Mission and Vision • Reviewed sample missions from other MI ccs • Divided up into groups to review and rewrite MCCC Mission and Vision – Seeking Your input • Discussed MCCC Priorities and Strategies • Divided up the 5 Priorities and Strategies • Created example measurable objectives for a few • Appointed leaders for each group

Next Steps • Town hall to explain the process • Leaders will contact individuals interested in joining working groups • Working groups will: • Review Mission and Vision • Write measurable objectives • Write tactics for each objective • Determine baseline measures and targets • Determine resources needed to meet targets and set timeline

  6. What Should be in a SP? • Vision • Mission • Values • Goals/Priorities • Strategies • Measurable Objectives • Tactics • Accountability, Target KPIs, Timelines, Resources

  7. MCCC VISION • Monroe County Community College aspires to be our community’s first choice for higher learning? • Is this aspirational enough? • Should it be revisited and revised?

Rewritten MCCC Sample Visions • Monroe County Community aspires to be the premier/first choice for higher learning. • MCCC aspires to be a catalyst for change where students succeed and community needs are met. • MCCC aspires to be an innovative and progressive institution and to be the community’s first choice for higher learning. • Monroe County Community College aspires to be a world-class center for higher learning. • MCCC will be an educational and cultural leader.
