Transport bookingOperational level – performance and follow up TRANSPORT BOOKING Different units, depending on what’s been agreed, (production units, warehouse, client’s supplier and client’s client) can make transport bookings directly to the Control Tower. The client has one single point of contact for all bookings and transport.

  14. Traffic planningOperational level – performance and follow up TRAFFIC PLANNING After receiving the booking the Control Tower takes over. Services may include everything from network handled cargo to direct deliveries. The planning can for example be based on given departure/arrival times, cross docking in terminals or other services or restrictions.

  15. Transport managementOperational level – performance and follow up TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT Logistics is about coordinating a number of activities performed by different parties. A key in the operational setup is to always have reliable processes and good management. Our Control Tower has direct contact with all parties, for example road carriers, shipping, air, and rail companies in order to secure the daily business.

Transport responsibilityOperational level – performance and follow up TRANSPORT RESPONSIBILITY We are the connecting link and take total responsibility for all transport, regardless of whether it is truck, rail, sea or air transport. By integrating all parties in the logistics chain we make sure agreed capacity is available and that transports are in line with the agreed time frame.

Shipment MonitoringOperational level – performance and follow up SHIPMENT MONITORING Regardless of where in the world, what transport mode or what supplier, the Control Tower will have control of the shipment, and be one single point of contact to whom the client can turn with any kind of question. Another alternative is, of course, to track the goods with our tracking service on the web.

All information is accessible for the Control Tower, who handles and forwards the information to relevant parties in the logistics chain. As a client you only need to communicate with one single party, but the information will reach all involved parties.

  19. Cross tradeOperational level – performance and follow up CROSS TRADE Cross trade is about handling goods flows between different countries, with different transport modes. Even if the product/transport does not physically concern Sweden, the Control Tower will still plan and organize the shipment. Another important function for the Control Tower is to provide support when suggesting different transport alternatives and planning deliveries together with the client.

  20. Freight administrationOperational level – performance and follow up FREIGHT ADMINISTRATION We take care of all logistics related administration. The Control Tower can facilitate and minimize the handling of supplier and client invoices, by for example creating collective invoices. This means reduced administration and a more clearer picture of the logistics cost involved.

  21. Cross dockingOperational level – performance and follow up CROSS DOCKING A cross docking solution can be a good alternative in a distribution system. A combined delivery is assorted and split in a warehouse/terminal, whereby client specific shipments can be made directly to the end customer. The final delivery can consist of a consolidated delivery from several suppliers to the same recipient.

  22. Return logisticsOperational level – performance and follow up RETURN LOGISTICS A part of the logistics solution may be a return process of products or packages. The Control Tower administrates and plans the transports and produces documentation in relation to the assignment. Besides that we can also monitor the process and report deviations.

  23. ComplaintsOperational level – performance and follow up COMPLAINTS We can take care of goods tracking and handle complaints regardless of transport mode or company involved. An effective handling of matter system allows us to follow up, analyze and take preventative action.

  24. Customs administrationOperational level – performance and follow up CUSTOMS ADMINISTRATION The Control Tower can take care of customs administration related to the transport. Everything is included from defining routines for simplified administration to production of different kinds of documents for import, export, re-export and intrastat reporting. Our IT-systems are connected to the TDS system.

  25. Warehouse administrationOperational level – performance and follow up WAREHOUSE ADMINISTRATION The Control Tower can handle all kinds of coordination and follow up of warehouse activities. Tasks can vary from warehouse management to operational activities with product information, order reception, balance requests and inventory management. Bookings are being made from the clients’ suppliers through integrated EDI-solutions, which facilitate the handling of supplier invoices.

  26. Shipment notificationOperational level – performance and follow up SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION The Control Tower takes care of notifications to the receiver, for example information with time of delivery or need for special equipment at the dispatch area.

KPI/ratios are a natural part of our work, and form a basis for development as well as improvement work. Units of measure can for example be productivity, delivery precision, complaints, environmental impact and result of development projects.

The agreements can be direct agreements of 3-party agreements.

In case of complex and intense transport solutions we often have an important role when it comes to developing/improving the IT setup.

A solution can be that the totality of the forwarding department is being transferred to the Control Tower.
