  2. Voki A website that allows you to create your own talking avatar. How can a Voki avatar be used in the classroom? Create a class pet. Use an avatar to introduce a new concept or topic. Embed an avatar on your class Wiki or blog. Students can create an avatar to introduce themselves to the class Students can create an avatar to present information about a topic they are researching. • Create a class account at Voki.com. • Multiple students can be logged onto the class account at one time

  3. Blabberize A website that allows you to create your own talking picture. Upload your own pictures or use photographs from the internet. Use previously recorded audio or record their own using a microphone. Use blabberize to share writing or to present information on a historical figure or specific topic. Finished products can be embedded on a class blog or wiki. An email is needed to create an account. blabberize.com

KerPoof.com On KerPoof students can: • Create original artwork, animate movies, stories, greeting cards and more. • Chat with each other snd post creations on a moderated class message board. • Collaborate on a project in real-time from different computers. • Write narratives in Kerpoof's Make a Story, using the scenes and characters as inspiration, orcreate stories and scenes without text for other students to fill in.

  5. IXL Math This is a math practice website for students in grades K-8. Over 1,000 different math topics covered. Teachers can select specific skills for students to practice. Practice quizzes and questions come directly from the CT state standards. Teachers can sign up for a 30 day free trial to monitor individual student’s progress. Students and teachers can also use the site for free as a guest.

  6. National Library of Virtual Manipulatives Virtual versions manipulatives , such as Base 10 Blocks, Cuisenaire Rods, and Tangrams, are available at no cost. NLVM provides interactive online math lessons, activities, and assessments. A great link to include on a blog roll for students to explore independently.
