  5. Effective Role within EFA Framework • Influence donor policy & budget on Girls’ Edu. • Advocacy at country level to influence governments and donors policies for Girls’ Edu. • Using the strengths of different partners to define Girls’ Edu. Indicators, collect data, analysis

  6. Which Steps are Needed? • Gender policy and identify various actors • Gender strategy Edu. for girls/boys • Action Plan for Girl’s Edu. • Costing and Budget for the Plan • Staff “buy-in” (advocacy & traning) • Mechanisms for monitoring and follow-up

  7. Questions for GAC • What is the difference UNGEI-GENIA? • Where GENIA exists, what is role of UNGEI? • GAC should continuously clarify the history and role of UNGEI • Bring up Intergovermental issues (migration/conflicts & portability of rights to edu.)
