  1. How to…Solve AP Calculus BC FRQ [2007] We will be solving the Problem… 1. Analytically 2. Numerically 3. Graphically 4. Verbally Maximum, Trapezoidal Rule, and Average value Therom Don’t BE! I am here to show you how

  2. Take a look at the problem: What are they looking for: Slope formula (dy/dx) Trapezoidal Rule Average Value Theorem Max and Min

  3. Part A is looking for “Rate” and the rate is equal to slope, there for we use the slope formula A+

  4. Average Value Theorem Trapezoidal Rule Substitution Time!

  5. Yay! Part B Done! To Plot the points you need to enter the values into L1 and L2 and change the Y= to Stat Plot mode

  6. Edit window to fit the graph from at least (can be more) 8 < t <12 • You need to know how many entries are processed from t=8 to t=12. • That means you need the area under the curve • Trace and use integral limit from 8 to 12 and the answer is… 16 BUT NOT DONE YET

  7. The question asked for what wasn’t processed! • Therefore we need to subtract what was counted from the total votes, which is E(8)=23 A+ Last part! We are looking for extremes, meaning we will need to set P’(t) = ZERO to first fine the critical points Using 2nd :Trace: max/min we get….

  8. Don’t forget we need to test the endpoints and the relative max and min values, to find the absolute max between t=8 to t=12 in order for the answer to be correct! So.. This concludes that the enteries were processed most quickly at… t = 12 Fin The End.. ...Citations
