  1. calo killing on 1-lepton (& jets)

  2. Cumulative MET plot

  3. Kill11 without samplings 0,1 -- J5 -> phi -5.0 5.0  eta

  4. Kill11 without samplings 0,1 -- J5 -> phi  eta

  5. How to veto events ? • From previous plots: cut on jet-hole distance not feasible  deltaR = 0.4 cut kills all J5 in kill11 (realistic!) scenario jet hole distance If jet center inside hole: Distance = 0

  6. New variable • lostEnergyJetApprox. = sum_{holes} ( jet_pt x hole_area x gauss(dist., sigma=0.4/3)) • If dist > 0.4 : lostEnergyJetApprox = 0 • TotlostEnergyApprox = sum_{jets} lostEnergyJetApprox MET_reco – MET_truth totLostEnergyApprox

  7. J5 kill11 • No cut: black, tot evts 4874, above MET_res=100 : 209 • Cut < 10.0 : red, tot evts 2506, above MET_res=100 : 28 •  lost approx ½ events, but tails down by ~ factor 7.5

  8. SU3, kill 11, same cut • No cut: black, tot evts 13703, above MET_res=|100| : 268 • Cut < 10.0 : red, tot evts 8478, above MET_res=|100| : 43 •  down to approx 62% events, tails by factor 6.2 ToDos 1) Need to look at cut value 2) Need to look at effect of cut in tails in mT in ttbar events 3) Change lostEnergyJetApprox Var. from area  volume ?
