  1. Country Status Presentation by Eghert Daniel Copenhagen April 20, 2007

  2. PRIORITY PROJECTS

  3. ARMENIA

  4. Argichi Small Hydroelectric Project Estimated annual CER-s: 17052 t CO2, Estimated CER-s until 2012 85 000 t CO2 “Jradzor” Small Hydro Electric Project Estimated annual CER-s: 8215 t CO2, Estimated CER-s until 2012: 41 000 t CO2

  5. Optimization of raw material grinding, clinker burning, fuel burning and clinker consumption for the production of cement at CJSC “MICA-CEMENT”, Armenia Total investment cost of the project activities is estimated to be 3,623mill. EURO (4,348 mill. USD Estimated annual (2008) CER –s: 107 415 tons CO2, Estimated CER-s up to 2012: 320 000 tons CO2 Estimated CER-s after 2012 630 000 tons CO2

  6. Production of synthetic rubber from butadiene instead of using natural gas in CISC “Nairit –Plant” Estimated annual CER-s: 200 000 t CO2, Estimated CER-s until 2012: 800 000 t CO2 Estimated CER-s after 2012: 1 400 000 t CO2

  7. AZERBAIJAN

  8. Reduction of gas leakages at Azerigaz company,Baku, Project description: Identification of gas leakages, fulfillment of repair works at gas network and main units, change of equipment at compressor stations.

  9. Ordubad Hydroelectric Project, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan Estimated annual CER-s: 145 740 t CO2, Estimated CER-s until 2012: 437 000 t CO2 Estimated CER-s after 2012: 1 020 000 t CO2 Ordubad 36 MW HPP investment cost is estimated to be 80 million Euros or 2.2 mill. Euro/MWe installed. Financing will be secured by the State.

  10. GEORGIA

  11. Catalytic N2O destruction project at the Nitric Acid Plant of AZOTI JSC/Energy Invest JSC, Rustavi The implementation of the project activity will result in an ex-ante estimation of GHG emission reductions of conservatively calculated 160,000 t CO2e per year. Please note - that estimates of GHG emission reductions are made for reference purposes only - actual emission reductions will be determined based on measurement results on ex-post basis.

  12. Emissions reduction in gas distribution network at KazTransGaz LTD enterprise in Tbilisi

  13. MOLDOVA

  14. Waste Water Treatment Plant – biogas collection from sludge, Chisinau The GHG emission relevant for this project includes: the open release of CH4 from open anaerobic sludge pits;CO2 emissions due to production of electricity by fossil fuels.

  15. KAZAKHSTAN

  16. Landfill gas capturing at Almaty Landfill, Almaty, Kazakhstan and Astana District Heating leakages reduction in distribution network, Astana, Kazakhstan

  17. KYRGYZSTAN

  18. “Landfill Gas Capturing and Utilization in Bishkek Estimated annual (2008) CER-s: 76 000 t CO2, Estimated CER-s until 2012: 400 000 t CO2 Estimated CER-s after 2012: 560 000 t CO2 Based on the test pumping results, maximum total expected emission reduction when the plant is in full operation throughout a year is approx. 80.000 tons CO2/year. The plant was expected to be in operation by mid 2007. Total investment need for Stage 1: approx 0,8 mill EUR. The financial situation of the Project proponent would not allow them to finance the project totally. Landfill operator company Meenet-Service has no savings or other free capital, and therefore the investment must be based on the upfront payment for the future CER-s.

  19. Bishkel Landfill CDM Project, Kyrgyzstan

  20. UZBEKISTAN

  21. Nitrous Oxide Reduction at Navoiyazot Fertilizer Industry , Navoi Reduction of nitrous oxide emissions in the production of nitrogen fertilizers Open JSC "ELECTRKIMESANOAT" Chirchik Utilization of tail oil gas at “Uzneftegas” Karaulbazarsky district, Buharsky region
