  4. Traidcraft Exchange • Established in 1986 • The only UK developmentcharity to specialise in trade • Traidcraft plc does not fund Traidcraft Exchange; it is committed to funding development work with its own producers and must reinvest to ensure sustainable growth

  5. Why is Traidcraft Exchange needed? • Over 1 billion people live on <$1 per day • Aid alone is not enough; trade is a long-term solution • Many poor people are hard-working and highly skilled. • Trade can help people liftthemselves out of povertyfor good and with dignity.
