Diversity Address • Delivered at the very start of the meeting • Well received among many faculty senators • Many senators pledged support to aid in the implementation of suggestions • Call for Persons with Disabilities to be added to the Diversity Task Force • Basically – in my own biased opinion – it went as best it could have gone!!!

  3. Senate Self Study • Recommendations from student senators were taken strongly into consideration • Faculty leaving early • Possible new committee name for Educational Equity and Campus Environment to be named “Cultural Diversity and Campus Environment” • Majority would like new order implemented in meetings to make them more efficient • Majority wanted time limit on meetings to be kept at 2-3 hours

  4. Remarks from Vice Provost Pangborn • Recognized and pledged support to diversity education in reference to student statement • In-state applications are up • Out-of-state applications are down

  5. THON • Will Martin (THON Overall Chair Remarks) • Raised $10.6M last year • 15,000 student volunteers across commonwealth • $10M recently pledged to PSU Hershey Children’s Hospital • THON Weekend: Feb 15-17 at the Bryce Jordan Center

  6. World Campus • Presentation on status of World Campus and where it will go from its current status • Generated $80M in revenue this past fiscal year • Due to the increased number of MOOC’s, and other online universities offering online courses, Penn State needs to remain as competitive as possible
