  2. 1.) What is the tentative title/topic of the course? - Graphing Linear Equations 2.) Who are your learners? What age, context/grade, how many students? - Algebra I students, mostly grades 9-10, approximately 20 – 30 students per class. 3.) Main purpose of the course? - Teaching the students the basics of the coordinate plane and graphing equations. Also to give them practice with solving equations using graphing.

  3. 4.) Will the course be self-paced or facilitated? Fully online or blended? Why? - Online and mostly self-paced. I’m going to go with the assumption that the full program is online, meanwhile I’m letting the course be self- paced simply because this is a concept students tend to have a difficult time with and I will want to be able to provide them with both the time and support they need to fully understand the material. Yet I also desire to allow those who grasp it faster to move on and not be held back.

  4. 5.) Anticipated time-line for implementation? - Between 10 to 12 weeks 6.) How many total hours of learning time are required in your course? - A good median estimate is 10 hrs, however it depends on the background and rate of understanding of the students.

  5. 7.) Are there content standards and/or course objectives that must be aligned to the course outcomes? List them if you know what they are. • Use positive and negative numbers, absolute value, fractions, decimals, percentages, and scientific notation, including application in real world situations • Use the order of operations and perform operations with rational numbers. • Represent mathematical relationships using variables, expressions, linear equations and inequalities • Use appropriate procedures for manipulating and simplifying algebraic expressions involving variables, integers, and rational numbers • Model and solve real-world phenomena using multi-step, first degree, single variable equations and inequalities, linear equations, and two-variable linear systems of equations. • Identify attributes of the Cartesian Coordinate System, such as quadrants, origin, and axes • Create graphs and equations for linear relationships.

  6. 8.) Adult learners: Does the course need professional development, undergraduate, or graduate credit tied to it? Do you have this available, if needed? - None needed 9.) Is this a redesign of a face-to-face or online course, or a totally new course? - I am likely to use some text as reference material in the creation of the lessons, but the general design of the course will be from scratch.
