  1. IBelieve in One God

  2. Can you pick the heresy? How do you respond? Can you support your answers?

  3. Did Jesus’ teachings address Dogmatic and Theological Matters? If YES, why was He concerned to deliver these teachings?

  4. Christ and Dogmatic Teaching • Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. • For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Matt 5:17-18

  5. He Declared Dogmatic Truths • In His teaching, He spoke about • Paradise • Hades • There is a great gulf fixed between the two • The fate of those who are evil • The reward of those who are righteous Luke 16

  6. The Faith in His Person is a Must for Salvation • For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

  7. “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Jn:3

  8. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Jn 3:36

  9. Baptism • “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” • Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” • Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Jn 3 :3-6

  10. Eucharist • I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

  11. “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. • Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

  12. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. • He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. • He who feeds on Me will live because of Me.

  13. Confession • “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Matt 18:18 • He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” Jn20:22-23

  15. About Theological Matters • When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”Matt 16:13 • Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Matt 16:16

  16. A Theological Question • While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?” They said to Him, “The Son of David.”

  17. He said to them, “How then does David in the Spirit call Him ‘Lord,’ saying: ‘ The LORD said to my Lord,“ Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”’? • If David then calls Him ‘Lord,’ how is He his Son?” • Matt 22 :41-46

  18. The Omnipresent • No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. Jn 3:13

  19. About the Trinity • He spoke about the relation and the equality • About the equality • “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” • Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. Jn 5:17-18

  20. One Will • Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. Jn 5:19

  21. The Love • For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. Jn 5:20

  22. His Power to Raise the Dead • For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. Jn 5:21 21

  23. His Authority to Judge • For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. Jn 6:22-23

  24. He has Life in Himself • For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself. Jn 5:26

  25. The Relation Between the Son and the Holy Spirit • And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.Jn 14:16-17

  26. He Proceeds from the Father • when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. Jn 15:26

  27. He Convicts the World of Sin • ‘And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment’ Jn 16:8

  28. The Eternity of the Son • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. Jn1 :1-4

  29. He Taught About Resurrection • For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven. But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?[c] God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

  30. The Incarnation of the Word • And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Jn 1:14

  31. His Message • Jesus answered ... “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. • My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Hos 4:6 • You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. Jn5:39
