  2. PLAN COMPARISON TOOLS New Mexico has a unique plan comparison tool on the BeWellNM.com website that lets consumers shop and compare plans without opening an account on healthcare.gov The BeWellNM website also links to a calculator to determine federal subsidies. The plan comparison tool shows plan prices after deducting the federal premium subsidy so that consumers can understand the affordability of the plans.

  4. Examples Example 1 Joe is 35, single, lives in Taos and makes $7.65 per hour and works 40 hours per week. He is eligible for a federal premium subsidy of $2,507 per year or $208.92 per month. It is important to him to have the lowest possible premium—so he chooses a bronze plan with a premium cost of $188.69 per month so pays no premium for his coverage. He has an out of pocket maximum of $6,350.
