  1. Why is aluminium most suited and most preferred metal in use? We all have learn some few things about aluminium back in high school. A metal whose atomic number is 13, in the ore called Bauxite, is actually the third most abundantly found metal in the world. It is very easily extracted from the crust of the earth and can be defined as the reason for its low cost. In the doors and windows market, made of metal, the demand for aluminium is very high. What could be the reason behind it being able to surpass the like of steel (which is an alloy), uPVC, so much that it is now dominating the window market. Now just in making the windows and doors, but aluminium is also getting an edge over the glazing process as well. The weight of the window and doors frame plays a role in deciding whether it is perfect for the window or not. Aluminium in itself is a light weight metal (2.7 g/cm3) which is literally a third of the weight of copper and steel, metals most widely used in making windows and door frames. Using a light weight metal to make windows and door frames helps the user use it easily and also solves the problems of curtain wailings. It is always recommended that since the curtain wailings are heavy, they window better be lighter. Secondly, aluminium does not break very easily. It may bend, twist and turn, but it does not break. You can give it any kind of shape that you want, mould it however, but you simply can’t break it easily. A metal, for windows, that is pliable. Although it may sound absurd to come, but certain customers fancy having a curved curtain wall. In such cases, aluminium becomes the best choice for the window producer. The cost might be slightly higher than the sliding window price, but for someone who really wants to have a curved curtain, would not mind this price gap. www.geetaaluminium.com

  2. If you choose aluminium, you would also be doing your tiny bit in contributing to the conservation of the environment. Aluminium is known to be 100 percent recyclable. A fun fact: 75% of aluminium produced 100 years ago has not yet been disposed, but has been recycled and is still being used. With the demand for aluminium, world wide being around 30 million tons per year, it really does come as a good news for the environment and its conservers. Aluminium is also known as the friendly metal because it readily and very easily forms alloys. If manganese is added to aluminium, the strength of the aluminium windows or door frame would increase by at least 20 percent. Other metals that aluminium forms alloy with are copper, zinc and iron. They form properties of their own such as they become versatile, can be welded into any structure, and treatable in high heat as well. Aluminium doors prices would seem to be high after the discussion above. However, the cost of having aluminium doors and windows fitted into your house are far less that getting other metals’ windows and doors fit. Also, in the long run, aluminium would prove to be very cost effective. www.geetaaluminium.com
