  4. A Quick Review – • John was instructed to MEASURE the SANCTUARY [Rev 11:1] • and then to CAST OUT and NOTMEASURE the OUTERCOURT (and the people there)

  5. for the HOLYCITY has been given to the NATIONS • and THEY will TREADITUNDERFOOT for 42 MONTHS! A Quick Review –

  6. Revelation 10:11 • And THEY were saying to me, • “It is NECESSARY for you to PROPHESY AGAINover peoples and nations and tongues and many kings.”

  7. Revelation 11:3 • “And I WILL GIVEMYTWOWITNESSES, (authority to)…

  9. Revelation 11:3 • “And I WILL GIVEMYTWOWITNESSES, [MARTYRS, G3144] • and they WILLPROPHESYfor one thousand two hundred sixty days, • BEINGCLOTHED IN SACKCLOTH.”

  10. Symbolism of 1,260 Days • 1,260 days = 42 months • 42 months = 3-1/2 years • Since 3-1/2 SYMBOLIZES times of ‘PERSECTION’, ‘HARDSHIP’ and/or ‘CALAMITY’. • You should be able to see this in the context of chapter 11.

  11. Why “TWOwitnesses”? • Remember symbolically “2” represents ‘FULNESS’, ‘STRENGTH’ or ‘INTESIFICATION’! • [see the handout Significant Numbers in the Book of Revelation, p. 14 for examples] Revelation 11:3

  12. Why “TWOwitnesses”? • Jesus said CONFIRMATION of what is TRUEREQUIRED at least TWOWITNESS [Mt 18:16; Jn 8:17 (from Deut 16:6; 19:15)]! • On this basis, Jesus sent the seventy out TWObyTWO [Lk 10:1]. Revelation 11:3

  13. WHO are the “twoWITNESSES” • [MARTYRS, (G3144)] • There are various beliefs. • BUTNOTICE –BOTHthe • “GIVING” of the ‘WITNESSES’ • and their “PROPHESYING” • are FUTURE tense! BUTNOTICE – Revelation 11:3

  14. The Bible Defines Itself –Revelation 11:4 Revelation 11:4 • THESE are the TWOOLIVETREES • and the TWOLAMPSTANDS • that STAND BEFORE the Lord of the whole earth. TAKE NOTE

  29. The BEAST that comes up out of the abyss and OVERCOMES and KILLS the WITNESSES [vs 7]. • Their DEADBODIESLIE in the city street for three and a half days [vs 8-9]. A Summary of Revelation 11:7-14

  30. And the PEOPLE of the EARTHREJOICE and MAKEMERRY; • and they will SENDGIFTS to one another, • because these TWOPROPHETSTORMENTED them [vs 10]. A Summary of 11:7-14

  31. After three and a half days they WERERESURRECTED and CALLEDUPtoHEAVEN [vss 11-12]. • In that hour there was a GREATEARTHQUAKE; a TENTH of the CITY • FELL;7,000 were killed; • and the rest were terrified and GAVE GLORY to God [vs 13]. a TENTH of the CITY FELL; A Summary of 11:7-14

  32. Revelation 11:14 • The SECONDWOE is PAST; • BEHOLD, the THIRDWOE is COMINGQUICKLY.

  33. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen, COME, Lord Jesus. Revelation 22:20

  35. #1. Jesus HIMSELF will come again [1 Thessalonians 4:15-16]. • #2. WEWILL meet Him in the air [1 Thessalonians 4:17]. • #3. Jesus Himself will RECEIVE us [John 14:3]. 14 IRREFUTABLE TRUTHS

  41. [12] LOOKINGFOR and HASTENING the COMINGOFTHEDAYOFGOD, • on account of which • the heavens will be destroyed by burning, • and the elements will melt with intense heat! 14. We can hasten the coming of the Lord

  42. How CAN we HASTEN the Return of Jesus!

  43. Matthew 24:6, 14 • [6] “And YOU WILL HEAR of wars and rumors of wars; • see that you are not FRIGHTENED, • for those things MUSTTAKEPLACE, • butTHATISNOTYET the END.”

  44. [14] “And this GOODNEWS of the KINGDOMSHALL BE PREACHED in THE WHOLE WORLD • as a TESTIMONY to ALL the NATIONS, • And THEN WILL COME THE END. Matthew 24:6, 14
