  5. WHAT SSAFA DOES • Support Veterans • Support the Service Family • Provide MOD Contracted Health and Social Work • Provide Housing • Provide Specialist Services

  6. SUPPORTING VETERANS 6,000 We have a network of 6,000 trained volunteers across 92 local branches We provide practical, financial and emotional support • 38,752 • In 2013, 38,752 veterans were supported by SSAFA

  7. SUPPORTING THE SERVICE FAMILY 1,500 • 1,500 community volunteers in 63 Service Committees • Provide support on military bases in the UK and around the world • 3,279In 2013, 3,279 referrals and visits were dealt with by our Community Volunteers

  8. HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE OVERSEAS • SSAFA provides integrated healthcare and social work services for military families around the world • 51,000 Patients • Operating in 14 countries, we offer a professional and confidential service to 51,000 in the military communities overseas

  9. PERSONAL SUPPORT AND SOCIAL WORK SERVICE IN THE UK 61 staff based at RAF stations across the UK Contracted by the MoD to provide a non-statutory welfare service to the RAF community 3,981 In 2013, 3,981 referrals were received

  10. HOUSING Norton Homes Our two Norton Homes mean that families can stay close to their loved ones who have been badly wounded or are long term sick Stepping Stone Homes Our two Stepping Stone homes provide a safe and secure environment for separated or estranged wives

HOUSING Royal Homes The Royal Homes in Wimbledon provide accommodation where widows and daughters of those who used to serve can live independently Care Homes SSAFA’s care home and purpose-built bungalows provide high quality residential care for veterans and between them house over 100 residents

  13. FOLLOWING SUCCESS OF FANDF, SUPPORT GROUPS SSAFA Support Groups provide help for families coming to terms with bereavement or serious injury of a loved one They are a community of families and individuals, all facing similar challenges, who help each other and offer mutual support
