  1. A Project in Photoshop Elements Aim of the project is to: Download 4 pictures (Presidents of the United States) from American Memory website Resize the images Put everything together in one file.

  2. Download John Adams This picture of John Adams can be downloaded from American Memory website by going to search page You can narrow down the search by selecting “photos & prints” Here is the link for this picture http://memory.loc.gov/service/pnp/cph/3a50000/3a53000/3a53200/3a53276r.jpg

  3. Open John in Photoshop Elements Open this picture in Adobe Photoshop Elements by choosing Open in the File menu

  4. Reduce John’s Size The image size will be large To reduce the length and width of the image, choose Image Size in the Image menu as shown

  5. Reduce John’s Size This is the default size of the downloaded image. Its height can be reduced to 5 inches as shown in the next screen.

  6. Reduce John’s Size When its height is changed to 5 inches, other fields changes automatically Hit ok

  7. Save John This is the picture we will get after resizing Save the picture by choosing “save” from File menu

  8. Download George Washington Download another picture Here is the link http://memory.loc.gov/ndlpcoop/ichicdn/n0556/n055628.jpg

  9. Crop George We need to take his picture alone. So we need to cut the picture alone. Select “Rectangular Marquee Tool” from the tool box as shown

  10. Select George With that tool select the picture alone. The selected portion will appear within dotted lines

  11. Crop the Image Choose “Crop” from Image menu as shown Save the image.

  12. Comparison This is the original picture This is the image after cropping

  14. Create the Master File Create a new image file by choosing “New” from File menu This window will appear Choose the Preset Sizes to 1024 x 768

  15. Drag and Drop Simply drag the images into the new file as shown Arrange the pictures as shown in the next slide

  16. Final Image This is the Final picture having the four Presidents of the United States. Save this image file.
