  1. MANAGEMENT REVIEW MEETING 20th & 21st Dec 2013 FEDERATION OF INDIAN EXPORT ORGANISATIONS KARNATAKA CHAPTER

  2. Audit Observations for the period from October 2012 to October, 2013 and corrective actions taken.

  3. QUALITY OBJECTIVES & TARGETS YEAR 2013-14 *Since half-year subscription is effective if RCMC granted after 1st Jan. 2013. As requested by exporters, we have retained 8 applications pending for issuance on 1st Jan. 2013. If we take that into account, the % growth is 4.76% in the second half.

  4. Evaluation of Chapter

  5. Aggressive Strategy for reaching 20,000 milestone in membership • Efforts are being made through the following: • Approaching Entrepreneurs Associations and Product based associations. • Action initiated: • Discussed at length with Gangavathi Rice Mill Owners Association ... about 40 Rice Mills are members of the Association. Prospective Mills who are interested on their own exports are about 25. Approached them through the President of the Association. Received already 12 applications. 4 RCMCs were granted. 8 Applications are under process pending grant of IEC. Expecting another 5 to 8 applications during Jan-Feb. 2014.

  6. Aggressive Strategy for reaching 20,000 milestone in membership ... contd.. • Discussed with office bearers of BNI – entrepreneurs association Bangalore City Chapter. Entrepreneurs and Professionals are members of the Association. Though many entrepreneurs are having manufacturing facilities and/or trading, they have no exposure on exports and have shown their interest when discussed in detail with them. Assured that they will start join as members from January month onwards and through this effort expecting about 75 members in the near future. • Till date we are joining with VTPC – the state export promotion centre of Karnataka - in District based export awareness programmes and we depute one of our officials to make a presentation about Role of FIEO. This process provides a little benefit to convert the participants as member(s) of FIEO. In view of this, steps have been initiated to organise District level programmes by FIEO jointly with Office of Jt.DGFT, local Chambers, Banks and other local associations. Planned the following for the next three months....

  7. Aggressive Strategy for reaching 20,000 milestone in membership ... contd..

  8. Increasing participation in domestic activities • Apart from concentring district based export awareness programmes, steps have been initiated to organise Management Development Programmes. We have devised a series of 10 events on this and have already organised one event in the month of November, 2013. The next event is being scheduled from the month of January, 2013 as given below: Also efforts are being made to organise jointly revenue generating National level summit, conclave, etc.,2 events in the next financial year.

  9. Identification of Fairs/Exhibitions/BSM  with focus on B2B • New membership is being mobilised in tier-2 and tier-3 towns and industrial clusters. When contacted, they have shown interest to get overseas buyers for doing exports. After getting a sizeable membership through our efforts, will organise with the assistance from MDA / ASIDE / State MDA Grants specific B2B in specific lucrative markets. Planned 3 to 4 such overseas events for the next financial year and positively in the month of March, 2014 able to start action in this regard.

  10. FIEO short term courses in International Trade(IT) • Already in touch with a few Karnataka based Universities to jointly conduct one year PG Diploma in Export Management. Got the feed-back from them as their approval procedure is cumbersome and will take long time. Persuading further and also liaisioning with other Universities in this regard and hope to start in the next financial year.

  11. Action Plan from January-March 14

  12. To increase our revenue • State Government Revenue Department very strictly informed that it is not at all possible to allocate any space within the city limit. For State Export Promotion Department, FKCCI, etc., they only have allotted land outside the city limit and when discussed on this, they have shown this examples. • If allowed, for Karnataka Chapter, we may purchase plot from private property owners of about 4,800 sq.ft. approx. and through ASIDE scheme may get the funds allocation from the Ministry for construction of office, display centre, conference hall and to built extra space to let it out to generate income.

  13. Requirement of Infrastructure • FIEO Karnataka Chapter is now functioning in the first floor of VITC building owned by the VTPC, the state’s export promotion centre. VTPC is in the process of shifting their entire office to new premises in another location. VTPC has suggested FIEO either to shift to the second floor of the current premises or to move along with them to their new premises.

  14. ASIDE Scheme • Have discussed to use the ASIDE fund being provided by Govt. of India to the State to utilise to provide Warehouse and Office facilities for Karnataka based exporters with the Mg. Director of VTPC. • Also suggested to Gangavathi Rice Mills Association and Society for Agriculture and Rural Development to identify common facility requirements enabling FIEO to assist them to provide such facilities under ASIDE Scheme.

  15. Status Holders to become members of FIEO • We have approached the RJDGFT, Bangalore to get the list of Status Holders 2 to 3 times. However, their office was reluctant to provide the information. • RJDGFT, Bangalore informed now that he will provide the list at the earliest.
