  3. Miguel Wolford Artist Statement Since I first started Advanced photography my projects have always revolved around fashion. This year I chose to focus in on vintage, secondhand pieces. My pictures usually feature one model and one prop to emphasize the quality of the clothing or accessory I'm focusing on in the photo. My goals are to create a beautiful image with my camera and to also create an image that makes the viewer interested in what piece of jewelry or garment is on the model. The most important part of each of my photos is the element I am focusing on. In a picture featuring a clock necklace, I felt nothing was really working with the necklace and thus I opted for a simple backless silhouette. This year I was very inspired by Annie Leibovitz. I think the most influence can be sign in the same backless necklace picture. When I develop my film I usually push the developer as I shoot in dark settings most of the time. When I print I use 11x14 fiber paper and contrast filters that range from a 3 to a 5. Currently I plan on shooting as much as I can. I found last semester I shot a lot of film and ended up not being happy with very much of it. Although this is what I've been doing I also find this being the most challenging part of my work. Often times my film does not come out completely as I would like it to, but this is easily fixed by re-shooting the entire thing.
