  1. ACE – A System Viewpoint Celeste Catano

  2. Edit “Lite” • Fewer edits than what is currently being done in ACS • CBP to provide a list of edits they will NOT be doing • Your software or internal procedures will have to ensure that you cannot submit non-compliant data. • Future changes may require more effort in identifying the edits that need to be added to your system.

  3. Deployment • A2.2 – Only Entry Types 01 and 11 • All other entries will be processed in current process • Software will have to handle 2 different formats for messages. • New Entry Summary message format will include: • Line Level Consignees (Sold to & Deliver To) • Line Level Reconciliation Flags • Census Override Codes • Expansion of Master, House and Sub to 50 characters • Will not be used until Cargo Release Deployment • Max line count expanded to 9,999 lines • Will not be used until Cargo Release Deployment

  4. Post Summary Corrections • Needs to be used after the shipment has been released and the entry summary data accepted by CBP • Full replace will not be allowed • Systems will need to keep track of all changes • Send Reason code along with the changes • Wait for CBP Approval before doing more changes • If Denied – Changes need to be rolled back to state prior to the changes.

  5. Documents Required Process • CBP to send a message requesting individual documents • Full Summary packets will no longer be required • Documents required no longer tied to Daily Statements • Submit the documents as requested instead of waiting for the statement presentation. • Your system will have to keep track of the shipments with document requests so you don’t forget to submit the docs • In the future, CBP will be able to accept images instead of paper documents. • Time to start looking into adding Imaging solutions to your existing system.

  6. ABI Statements • Elimination of the Periodic Daily Statement • Reports will be available to replace functionality • Workshop to be held in October • Post Summary Corrections Refunds/Increases will be reflected in the statements. • Statements will reflect the version of the entry summary

  7. Misc. Software Changes • CF28, 29, 4647 – New ABI Messages • Liquidation – Courtesy Notices will not be sent for entries liquidated by operation of law • Recon Entries – ABI Message changes to replace the spreadsheet and processing at the line level • AD/CVD Recon
