  3. “Formative Assessment is a process used by teachers and students during instruction that provides feedback to adjust ongoing teaching and learning to improve students’ achievement of intended instructional outcomes.”Council of Chief State School Officers, FAST SCASS

  4. Highlights • Participants • 3 high schools in western Iowa • 1 high school in eastern Iowa+ 1 high school in southeastern Iowa 5 total high schools • Plan • 2 CEU credit course following the Iowa Professional Development Model • 5 ICN sessions • 3 on-site workshops/meetings for planning • Learning Teams meeting at least once per month

  12. What’s Next May 28 - legislation’s vision: • Each K-12 educator will embed the essential concepts and skill sets in rigorous and relevant instruction informedby ongoing formative assessment.
