  2. Synergy What IS synergy anyway??? • Synergy Is NOT: • Working Independently • Compromise • Tolerating Differences • Thinking you’re always right • Synergy is: • Teamwork • Open-Mindedness • Celebrating Differences • Finding new And better ways

  3. Purpose of SYNERGY • The purpose of SYNERGY is to work as a group to get more done than you would have by yourself.

Celebrating Differences Three Possibilities for approaching Differences • Shunners • Are afraid of differences • Enjoy ridiculing others • Their way of life is • “the best way” • Join gangs and anti-groups • Tolerators • Believe that everyone has the right to be different. • Neutral • Come close to synergy but never reach it, because the see differences as hurdles. • Celebrators • They Value Differences • Diversity=Creative sparks= Opportunity • They think two people thinking differently is greater then two people who think alike

  5. Getting to Synergy • Define the Problem or Opportunity • 2. Their Way • (Understand the ideas of others) • 3. My Way • (Seek to be understood) • 4. Brainstorm • (Create new options and ideas) • 5. High Way

  6. Finding the “High Way” Compromise 1+1=1 1/2 Cooperation 1+1=2 Synergy 1+1=3 To find the high way, perfectly tune your Synergy to its maximum effect. The more people the better!

  7. Elements of Teamwork Plodders They stick to a job until it’s done. Followers Very supportive of leaders. Innovators They are creative. (Idea People) Harmonizers They provide unity and synergy within a team. Show-offs Fun to work with, but difficult at times.
