  1. ONLINEWMTSFREQUENCY COORDINATION A How-To Guide to the New ASHE Website

  2. Welcome ASHE* has enlisted Comsearch* to develop this new website to handle the frequency coordination of WMTS devices. *Note: you can click on these links and be taken to the respective web sites. Click the “Back” button to return to our presentation.

  3. Welcome The FCC* has mandated that: “Any health care provider who wishes to use WMTS equipment at a given location must first register with ASHE/AHA and provide specified information for the WMTS database…” *Note: you can also click here and be taken to the FCC’s WMTS web site. Click the “Back” button to return to our presentation.

  4. Welcome What are ASHE’s responsibilities? • Review and process coordination requests submitted by authorized health care providers. • Maintain a database of WMTS use. • Notify users of potential frequency conflicts. • Coordinate WMTS operation with radio astronomy observatories and Federal Government radar systems.

  5. Welcome What are your responsibilities? • You must register ALL WMTS frequency usage with ASHE using this system. • Changes include: • Equipment Decommissioning , • Relocation, • Frequency addition or deletion, • Change in output power, • Change in equipment type, • Any other change that could increase the potential for harmful interference. • You must obtain a coordination certificate from ASHE before operating any WMTS equipment. This includes temporary product trials or demos. • You must notify ASHE of any change in the operation of your WMTS equipment.

  6. 1. Register your hospital with ASHE and Getting Started To use the ASHE WMTS Frequency Coordination system you need to do two things: 2. Get an Account Login and Password

  7. Then please contact ASHE: John Collins Director, Engineering and Compliance312-422-3805 jcollins@aha.org Kim Mueller Knowledge Specialist 312-422-3807 kmueller@aha.org or Getting Started If you’re not registered…

  8. Let’s take a tour of the system…

  10. Logging On WMTS Login Enter your Login ID Enter your Password Click Here Don’t walk away and get coffee, you may have to start over!

  11. The Main Menu You can add a new system record You can change an existing record You can request additional services These 6 buttons are at the bottom of every screen This one returns you to this screen WMTS Main Menu The Main Menu is where you access all of the frequency coordination services.

  12. Let’s Enter a WMTS Deployment Click Here… WMTS Main Menu

  13. Add New Deployment …That brings up this screen, Add New Deployment

  14. Add New Deployment Click on a “?” anywhere… …and it will bring up a list of FAQ’s

  15. Add New Deployment Click Here… The first thing we must do is select the facility where the deployment will occur. You can deploy equipment in registered facilities only! So we developed a Facility Finder to list only those facilities registered to you…

  16. …That brings up the Facility Finder If the list is large, you can click on the first letter of the facility name… …and be taken to the top of the list for that letter Then click here… You can then scroll down until you find your facility Click any button to choose a facility…

  17. Add New Deployment …and the highlighted data is filled in for you You can then complete the remainder of the form.

  18. Add New Deployment Here is the form with example data filled in. Let’s step through the fields…

  19. Add New Deployment Enter the latitude and longitude closest to the center for the deployment area. Format is degrees-minutes-seconds The location within the facility where the deployment will occur (this can also be the name of a building that’s part of a campus) For deployments in the continental United States, you do not have to changes these Permanent or Trial deployment (one example of a Trial deployment might be a product demo where the equipment may be removed) Enter the highest floor in the facility where there will be WMTS transmitters for this deployment The maximum reach of the deployment Enter the maximum height (above ground) of the deployment OPTIONAL Enter the maximum effective radiated power for each transmitter (NOT the total for all) Enter the distance you want to search for potential interference conflicts (uses the lat & lon given above as the center) Enter the total number of transmitters associated with this deployment Select your equipment from the list Enter any comments you may have for the record When everything is filled in, click here… …or click here if you want to clear the form and try again …

  20. Search Results Here are the results of your frequency search.

  21. Search Results Data on your proposed deployment Distance from the lat & lon of your deployment to the lat & lon of these deployments Data on existing WMTS deployments found within the search radius Date the equipment is installed and turned on for use Deployment type can be either Permanent or Trial Status of the deployments (see FAQ’s for full definition) Frequencies used by these deployments Any Radioastronomy facilities requiring coordination will be listed under here Any channel 36 or 38 TV stations will show here When you’re ready to pick frequencies, click here… …or if you want to change your search criteria and try again, click here…

  22. Frequency Selection Here you can select the frequencies to use on your deployment.

  23. Frequency Selection You can see which frequencies are available… Click here for a better definition of these two categories.. …which frequencies have potential conflicts with existing deployments… …or click here to edit your criteria and search again… Click here after selecting your frequencies… For detail on these existing deployments, click here… To select frequencies, click the “check boxes” under either “Available Frequencies” or “Potential Conflicts category.
