  1. Standard 3 Foldable Identify the reactants and products of photosynthesis & Cellular Respiration. Tell what happens in each of these reactions.

  2. Photosynthesis Draw & Label a chloroplast. Cellular Respiration Draw & Label a Mitochondria.

  3. Light Dependent Reaction • Occurs in the thylakoids • Light energy O2, ATP, energized electrons • Energy produced is captured by NADPH & taken to Dark Reaction. • Light Independent Reaction • Occurs in stroma • Powered by light reaction • Produces glucose that ends up in cellular respiration Inside the Foldable Equation:6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy C6H12O6 + 6O2 Definition- Process used by plants & some bacteria that traps the sun’s energy and turns it into chemical energy. Location: Chloroplast • Equation:C6H12O6 + 6O2 6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy • Definition: Process used by animals (& sometimes plants) to break down food into ATP. • Location: Mitochondria • 3 Steps • Glycolysis- Anaerobic. 1 Glucose makes 2 pyruvates & 2 ATP. • Citric Acid Cycle- Aerobic. Pyruvate breaks down into energized electrons & 2 ATP. • ETC- Aerobic. Electrons make water, CO2 & 32 ATP • Total ATP Produced: 36 • Fermentation • Occurs after glycolysis if oxygen is not present. • 2 Types • Alcoholic fermentation: produced by yeast & some bacteria. • Lactic Acid fermentation- produced by working out really hard which lowers how much O2 is available.
