  7. Nehemiah 2:17 Then I said to them, "You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace."

  8. Nehemiah 2:18 I also told them about the gracious hand of my God upon me and what the king had said to me. They replied, "Let us start rebuilding." So they began this good work.

  13. Our Children Are in Crisis • 32% of those who were born again said they believe in moral absolutes ... • Only 9% of born-again teens believe in moral absolutes ... Just one in 10 of our country’s born-again teenagers believe in absolute moral truth – a statistic that is nearly identical to that of non-born again teens. “Americans Are Most Likely to Base Truth on Feelings – February 12, 2002, Barna Research

  14. Why Is Worldview An Issue? Worldview: the underlying belief system held by an individual that determines his/her attitudes and actions in life. Children’s ministry is no longer effectively developing a biblical worldview in a majority of our children.

  15. Why Is Worldview An Issue? People without a biblical worldview are: • 92 times more likely to endorse abortion • 78 times more likely to expose themselves to pornography • 31 times more likely to accept cohabitation • 15 times more likely to condone gay sex • Eight times more likely to buy lottery tickets

  16. Our Children Are in Crisis George Barna said: “The American Church must focus on children and children’s ministry. We have virtually lost a generation – we cannot afford to lose another.” “Americans Are Most Likely to Base Truth on Feelings – February 12, 2002, Barna Research

  17. Our Children Are in Crisis • Worldview is largely formed by age 10; therefore, we must concentrate on children. • Children won’t change their worldview by themselves; therefore, we must work with those who work with the children.

  18. A Question to Consider How do we teach a biblical worldview to kids?

  19. Target young
