  1. SEMINAR 1. Title : High-Performance Thin-Film Transistor Backplanes for Active-Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diodes 2. Speaker : Dr. Sangyoon Lee (Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology) 3. Time : 16:00 – 17:00, Thursday, May29, 2008 4. Place : e+ Lecture Hall (room 83188), 2nd Research Building, Sungkyunkwan University 5. Summary : Up to now, unresolved issues of research which evolved from flat panel displays (FPDs) system are concerned with development of high-performance and low cost thin-film transistors (TFTs) backplanes on desired surface by easy-to-process yet highly ordered system. In particular, even though active-matrix organic light emitting diodes (AMOLEDs) display is attractive among FPDs, it is not realized because conventional TFT technologies such as a-Si (amorphous silicon) are unsatisfactory. Therefore, we have developed and demonstrated the two types of approaches such as (1) low-cost, solution-processed system using the organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) and (2) low-temperature processed amorphous oxide semiconductor system using GIZO (Ga2O3-In2O3-ZnO) TFTs. 6 Background : Education 1988 Material Science & Engineering, Seoul National University, B.S 1990 Material Science & Engineering, Seoul National University, M.S 1998 Material Science & Engineering, Stanford University, Ph.D Work Experience July 1991 - Aug. 1992: Research Scientist, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Seoul, Korea Jan. 1994 - June 1998: Research Assistant, Center for Materials Research (CMR), Stanford University, CA July 1998 - Dec. 1998: Part time postdoctoral researcher, Center for Materials Research, Stanford University, CA July 1998 - June 2000: R&D senior process engineer, Integrated Devices tech, INC., Hillsboro, OR July 2000 – Nov. 2001: R&D senior process engineer, LSI logic, Santa Clara, CA Nov. 2001 – April 2002: Part time visiting researcher, Advanced Materials Lab., Stanford University, CA Nov. 2001 – April 2002: Senior Research Scientist, Orioles INC., San Jose, CA 2004: Project Manager, Flexible display 용 OTFT, Display 분야 기술원 Master 선임. 2005~present: Group Project Leader, 차세대 display 용 TFT 개발 Project Team June. 2002 – present: 전문 연구원(수석), 삼성종합기술원
