  2. Beginning Who is God? Why start here?

  3. What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.-A. W. Tozer

  4. “Were we able to [get] from any man a complete answer to the question, ‘What comes into your mind when you think about God?’, we might predict with certainty the spiritual future of that man” -A. W. Tozer

  5. “What matters supremely . . . Is not [just] the fact that I know God, but the larger fact which underlies it – the fact that He knows me.” - J. I. Packer

  6. All the problems of heaven and earth, though they were to confront us together and at once, would be nothing compared with the overwhelming problem of God: That He is; what He is like; and what we as moral beings must do about Him. -A. W. Tozer

  7. BASED ON WHAT??!??

  8. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

  9. So, if you don’t know God . . . You can’t really know anything correctly

  10. What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.-A. W. Tozer

  12. Some Texts • Isaiah 45:5-7 • Isaiah 46:9 • Exodus 20:3 & Deut. 5:7 • Isaiah 6:1-5 & Revelation 4:8

  13. Really?!? Holy, Holy, Holy . . . For ever and ever and ever and . . .

  15. Attributes? HE IS: Holiness Justice Love What about His

  16. Attributes? God is all powerful, all knowing, everywhere, infinite, love, completely in charge, immeasurable, unaffected, unchangeable . . . More. What about His

  17. SO WHAT? About this . . . About you . . .

  18. “Were we able to [get] from any man a complete answer to the question, ‘What comes into your mind when you think about God?’, we might predict with certainty the spiritual future of that man” -A. W. Tozer

  19. Relationship It’s a Relationship Him to us, we to Him, we to each other

  20. Yo! Mom – Shut up! You are so wiggety wacked!

  21. We glorify what we enjoy most . . . God’s law demanded, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might” (Deuteronomy 6:5). But we have all loved other things more. This is what sin is—dishonoring God by preferring other things over him, and acting on those preferences. Therefore, the Bible says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). We glorify what we enjoy most. And it isn’t God.

  22. Failure to love is not trivial-it is treason Therefore sin is not small, because it is not against a small Sovereign. The seriousness of an insult rises with the dignity of the one insulted. The Creator of the universe is infinitely worthy of respect and admiration and loyalty. Therefore, failure to love him is not trivial—it is treason. It defames God and destroys human happiness.

  23. “Were we able to [get] from any man a complete answer to the question, ‘What comes into your mind when you think about God?’, we might predict with certainty the spiritual future of that man” -A. W. Tozer

  24. Do you believe . . . ?

  25. Not just what you know – what do you believe?
