  2. CCS • CCS is a multi-faceted organization with interests in Rocketry, Aerospace, Robotics, Cryogenics, and Space Exploration www.cole-consulting-services.com

CCS • The first set of goals for CCS is to research, design, and manufacture a modular platform which contains a small scale fuel refinery, ore mining, and ore refinery for eventual use on Mars. • This modular platform will be able to be adapted for use at other locations such as the Moon, Asteroids, or even here on Earth. www.cole-consulting-services.com

  4. Fuel Refinery • CCS has developed a ISRU (In-Situ Resource Utilization) plant that breaks down CO2 into CH4 (Methane), H20 (Water), and other raw components • CCS has based much of it’s designs on the work of Robert Zubrin, one of the founders of the Mars Society. • Small Scale partial implementations of this ISRU have already been built and tested. CCS plans on making a full scale fully combined ISRU plant. (see website for details) www.cole-consulting-services.com

  5. Ore Mining • CCS has the goal of designing a small-scale ore extractor. • This ore extractor would do basic mining for Mars regolith deposits that are rich in Iron (Fe), Copper (Cu), and Silicon (Si). • This process will be semi-autonomous and utilize small scale rovers. www.cole-consulting-services.com

Ore Refinery • CCS is designing a small-scale ore refinery for producing nearly pure Iron, Copper, and Silicon. • The technology to do this has been around for decades, just on much larger scales. • CCS is currently researching ways to refine these elements in high CO2 and extreme low temperature/pressure environments. www.cole-consulting-services.com

  7. Why these 3 elements? • Iron is the building block for Iron structures, Steel, and other strong building supports. • Copper is most useful as a conductor and as such will be extracted in a way as to create a form of wire. • Silicon is the basis for most of the semi-conductor industry. With Silicon in a crystalline form we can create basic solar cells. With solar cells we can create more electricity. www.cole-consulting-services.com
