  2. OBJECTIVES: • To assist schools in planning for the 2013-2014 Mid-Year Reflection; • To assist schools in using the data from the Fall and Winter District Interim Assessments to identify progress toward achieving SIP goals; • To provide directions for entering the Mid-Year Reflection online.

  6. Getting Started • You will reflect on each SIP Goal. • Include the stakeholders for each goal area in the reflection process

  7. Locating Your Data Go to http://osi.dadeschools.net

  8. Check for updates Mid-Year Reflection

  9. Select your school School Level

  10. Describe gains/decreases in Student Proficiency in percentage points.

  11. Goals that are evaluated using the FCAT or EOC will be marked “no” at Mid-Year

  12. Compare the percent proficient on the Fall Interim to the percent proficient on the Winter Interim

  13. If you do not see evidence of movement toward the goal, mark “no” and move to the next response

  14. Address two to three barriers, not all. Look for evidence that shows that progress is being made by the group that is addressed in the barrier – you may need to look at your Thinkgate data reports

  16. Step 4: Brainstorm and prioritize strategies to reduce or eliminate each barrier:

  17. Increase fidelity of implementation for current strategies – update SIP as needed.

  18. Compare the percent satisfactory on theFallInterim to the percent satisfactory on theWinterInterim to provide evidence for progress toward achieving a goal…

  19. To provide evidence for goals that are not evaluated using the FCAT or the EOC, review Step 8 of your SIP, “Monitor Goal Progress”, and determine appropriate data to examine.

  20. For example, Step 8 for the STEM goal may refer to increasing participation in the Science Fair, which has already taken place. If you met your goal of increasing participation in the Science Fair, you will mark that goal “yes”,and provide the evidence you have gathered showing an increase in the number of students that participated in the science fair.

  21. If you did not achieve your goal, or have additional actions in your goal, you may wish to revisit and update your SIP to reflect what you are going to do to achieve the goal.

  22. Recap: • Distribute Mid-Year Reflection Worksheets to stakeholders. • Allow time for discussion and evaluation using appropriate data. • Gather completed work sheets. • Meet with EESAC to discuss results, record in the minutes. • Go online to http://flsiponline.com to submit your Mid-Year Reflection.

  27. Steps to Assure Compliance As part of the EESAC meeting (scheduled for January/early February), distribute copies of the current “DA Compliance Checklist.” Review each DA Requirement, provide updates on current status and record in the minutes. Update the checklist.
