The Frick Historical TourThursday, January 12, 2012 Experience the culture and refinement of the Gilded Age!  We will tour the Clayton house, the Car and Carriage Museum and the Frick Museum's current exhibit of the Faberge' Collection.  The museum and its multiple collections are the legacy of Helen, daughter of Henry Clay Frick, one of America's wealthest industrialists and art collectors.  This day will focus on these Industrialists, their excess wealth and the changes they brought to our society.  Check to NAI for $6  Brown Bag Lunches! Your day will include a tour and  a hands-on art activity!

  12. National History Day at the Senator John Heinz History Center encourages students to research history in an exciting and creative way.  Either individually or in groups, students create exhibits, produce documentaries, write papers, design websites, or stage performances.  Each activity is judged and first, second, and third place winners move on to state and possibly national competition.   13. MOCK TRIAL Please see Mrs. Urbaniak during lunch today if you did not attend yesterday's meeting!  I have hand-outs for you! *All Mock Trial team members must attend the rehearsal on Wednesday, January 4th from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.!

National Computational Linguistics Olympiad Compete against high school students across the United States Sponsored by highly selective colleges and national corporations such as Carnegie Mellon University, U of Michigan, National Science Foundation and Intelligent Systems! The West Point Bridge Design Contest(http://bridgecontest.usma.edu) is a nationwide Internet based competition intended to provide students with a realistic, engaging introduction to engineering.   The contest starts January 17th  and ends March 1st.   Stop by the GOAL office if you have interest and we'll tell you more!

  16.     A summer enrichment program run by the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science for local area high school students.Through special classes and guest faculty presentations, students discover the exciting and vast possibilities of computer science. Students LEAP ahead ten years in their understanding as they are exposed to the frontiers of computer science research. Students interact with notable scientists, visit cool, leading-edge local companies and dive into their own projects. They emerge with a vivid overview of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon.
