ESL Family Night 2007

ESL Family Night 2007. 6:30-8 pm Heritage Cafeteria. First parents and friends were welcomed to our program. We had over 30 people at our program. We saw a video “ESL Weather News” where students talked about all types of weather. Here we see the Desert Habitat and a report on Geronimo.

  1. ESL Family Night 2007 6:30-8 pm Heritage Cafeteria

  2. First parents and friends were welcomed to our program. We had over 30 people at our program. • We saw a video “ESL Weather News” where students talked about all types of weather.

  3. Here we see the Desert Habitat and a report on Geronimo. Here we see reports and a habitat on Antarctica. Then Secondary ESL students described their habitat research and reports, including famous people from their habitat.

  4. Here are pictures of students with the Rainforest and Great Plains Habitats.

  5. The Primary ESL students sang a weather song.

  6. Here is a kindergarten version of the book “Around the World in 80 Days”. Here is a mobile about Whales. Then Primary ESL students talked about their projects, choosing either a book they had listened to and summarized, or a mobile they had made as they read a book about animals.

  7. Some students worked together and one presented the project. Here is a mobile on Spiders.

  8. Here is the second grade version of the book. Here is a mobile about elephants. More projects…

  9. Here is a mobile about gorillas. Here is the third grade version of the book. And more projects . . .

  10. Then we had the feast! Every family brought their favorite food to share with each other.

  11. We had time to sit and talk with each other as well.

  12. There were families from 5 different countries and food from China, the Czech Republic, Puerto Rico, Pakistan, Palestine, Germany and the USA. Some students tried new types of food and found they liked it!
