  3. Course Aims • to develop students’ knowledge and skills in • exploring product ideas • communicating the ideas • Students become competent in visualizing and presenting ideas using • freehand sketches • colour rendering • technical drawing • computer imaging

  4. We sketch for a purpose (to help us think, to communicate, to persuade, etc.) We sometimes sketch existing things, but mostly we sketch things we imagine We sometimes play with optical illusion, but we never draw ‘impossible objects’ Art VS Product Design Sketching

  6. Assessment • Class Attendance: 75% or more (absent for no more than four 3-hour sessions) • Assignments: Students must submit ALL assignments before the corresponding due date. • Module Grade: Students must get a total mark of at least 50 (D grade) in this module.
