  2. Facts Click to edit Master title style • FRIB is under construction • Low energy (~10MeV/n) re-accelerated beams • are an important part of the program

  3. Reaccelerated Beams Program Click to edit Master title style • Do we need a spectrometer? • why, for what physics? • W. Nazarewicz, draft of whitepaper • what physics cannot be done without a spectrometer? • how we can improve the draft of the whitepaper? • what type of spectrometer • do we agree with the recommendation of the preparatory writing workshop?

  4. Recent work Click to edit Master title style • http://meetings.nscl.msu.edu/CommunityMeeting2013/recoil.htm • Questionnaire: • Writing workshop June 12-13 2014 • excel file of proposals • draft of the whitepaper • recommendation • These documents were attached to the mail to the today’s workshop registered participants

  5. Context and Goal Click to edit Master title style • FRIB with re-acceleration will be completed in 2022 • construct a spectrometer needs 5 years 2022-5=2017 • 2017-2014 = 3 years for the project approved/funded • http://www.lecmeeting.org/Texas A&M, Aug. 21-23 • Long Range Plan (LRP) for nuclear physics • Goal: present at the LECM a well documented • scientific and technical project that can be endorsed • by the community: white paper + recommendation
