  1. Foods That Are Good For Your Teeth Best and Worst Foods for Your Teeth An important component to good oral health is your diet. Factors such as what you eat, and how often you eat will affect your oral health. Sugars and carbohydrates are converted into acid, and the acid attacks the enamel on your teeth. This is how cavities are created. Therefore there are foods that are good for your teeth, and there are many that aren’t. Foods that are good for your teeth are: - Chicken and other meats - Cheese - Nuts - Milk

  2. These foods are all foods that are good for your teeth, as they are foods that provide calcium and phosphorus, which re-mineralize your teeth. This is good for your teeth as it protects your tooth enamel, and prevents cavities. Other foods that are good for our teeth are: -Crunchy/firm fruits -Crunchy/firm vegetables These foods are foods that are good for your teeth as they have a lot of water in them. This is good as the water allows for saliva flow to be stimulated. Saliva flow washes away sugars in your mouth, which prevents tooth decay. Foods that should be avoided are: -Hard candies (lollipops) -Sticky candy -Cookies -Cakes -Chips -Dried fruit These foods all have a higher sugar content, which is bad for your teeth as it causes tooth decay. Foods that are sticky are also bad for your teeth as they can get stuck between our teeth, and this results in cavities. These foods do not completely have to be eliminated from your diet, but they should be eat in minimal portions, and teeth should be brushed and flossed after eating any of these foods.
