  1. Essentials For Young Athletes To Prosper In The Field Of Sports With a sudden growth spurt observed in the field of technology, it is impossible to draw ourselves away from it. Before continuing further, we can safely conclude that technology is often the root of most evils. It definitely contributes to half the world’s affliction to obesity and the trappings surrounding it. We, at FSS (First Step Soccer), have taken an initiative to do our small bit that we hope might contribute towards eradicating this malady and make our planet a better place to be in for the young brood. First Steps Soccer coaches young athletes ranging between 2 to 9 years old into able players who might someday want to take Soccer up as a profession. It is crucial to instil young minds with a strict sense of discipline and sound work ethics through everyday activities. The environment prevalent at schools, homes and playgrounds is what greatly influences and shapes their personality. Keeping young children active and not let them lead sedentary lifestyles are essential to help them grow healthier minds. We, as adults, must ensure that kids are not spending a majority of their time in front of the television, munching on unhealthy carbs.

  2. Simple exercises that are not too taxing for their physical forms must be integratedSimple exercises that are not too taxing for their physical forms must be integrated within their daily chores. We must keep in mind that children would rarely perform if the activities are not fun filled and exciting enough. Relay races, hopping, playing with skip ropes, organising friendly competitions that involve swimming, running across the yard are some of the ways we can engage them in dynamic sports training. Circuit training which includes short intervals of exercises and also proper warmups and stretches before and after each session of training is compulsory for proper blood flow, reducing the risk of unforeseen diseases that are common while training kids.  Children would often lose interest if they are made to listen to long and complicated instructions. Instead, simple demonstrations can play a key role in piquing their interest and motivate them to perform better. What is mandatory in the training of young athletes is a coach who would not only have a clear goal in sight but also take the athlete’s capabilities into consideration. Ample practice sessions help boost a child’s confidence and uplift their skills and playing techniques.  Even more crucial in building a budding athlete into a professional one is their dietary habits. It is not desirable nor should it be the case for grownups to force feed fruits and boiled sprouts to children every day of the year. What must be done instead is the careful incorporation of healthy foods into their regular diet to build strong, lean muscle and gradually reduce their intake of unhealthy carbohydrates. A proper nutrientenriched diet goes a long way in sustaining an athlete’s performance on the field making sure that he/she does not succumb to fatigue due to loss of energy. An optimised training and recovery are results of a wellbalanced diet of both   macro   and   micronutrients   (fats,   proteins,   carbohydrates,   vitamins   and minerals). Furthermore, it is important to replenish the energy expended on the field by the intake of sufficient calories soon after the training session. FSS, as a reputed  junior Football academy, has been fulfilling their promise of training young athletes in the field of Soccer since 2006, realising their goal of providing them with adequate training and dietary advice along with the help of two stalwarts in their own arena: Mark Wenham and Joe Wenham. The fatherson duo has a total of 9,000 hours of experience between them, the latter of whom is currently playing for Southmead Athletic in the County League and represents Bishopston Cricket Club in the West of England Premier League.
