Shipping and Climate Change • With current bunker prices and ship capacity shipowners have strong motivation to reduce emissions! • IMO EEDI is a KEY stepping stone with concrete impact • EU would like to see regional measure BUT • It would be impractical • Not effectively address CO2 reduction • Evasion will be easy • Therefore other alternatives should be found… • EEDI+ on multiregional approach • Bunker levy – at a global level (IMO)
