  2. Rationale It is important for 4th grade students to understand Ohio history, its origins, its past, its people, and its institutions.

  3. Objectives • Students will be able to define historical eras by using a time line. • Students will be able to examine state historical documents, sites, and artifacts and formulate questions for further investigation. • Students will be able to identify important individuals and events in state history and explain their importance. • Students will be able to identify and locate on a map different cultural groups, major land forms, and water ways that are in Ohio. • Students will be able to identify different resources and explain why they are important to Ohio residents. • Students will be able to explain the democratic processes and rights and responsibilities for Ohio.

We have just showed you a few ways that this task can be accomplished. In the future, we hope that everybody will remember how important this topic is and teach it to your future class.
