SSO at UWE • 2000 students in the Student Village – over 33% signed up (previous years 20-40%) • Inter-block competition (4x halls, 24x blocks) • Winning block = £25 prize per signed up resident during the 1st and 2nd term • Induction day sign ups • No Training Session • Previous years = paid ambassadors • 5 x halls visits throughout the year (quizzes and photo competitions)

  4. 356 students on the Facebook page, 120 joined this year. • 29 photos submitted in the competitions • Prizes – Student discount cards, Ben & Jerry’s, club tickets Facebook Competitions

  5. UWE Student Won Ben & Jerry’s National Competitions

  6. Visits • Quizzes – 90 Face to Face Quiz entries • 23 photos totalling 250 likes • 3 litres of ice cream given away

  7. Climate Change Quiz • 140 students entered

  8. Energy Data • Prizes awarded to the most efficient block based on a kWh per student/per day basis • Energy savings of around 10% compared to the baseline

Statistics and Results • Sign ups - 665 students have pledged to support the campaign - over 33% of halls students • Facebook - 120 students have become a fan of the campaign on Facebook this year • Quiz - 230 students had a go at our climate change quiz • Photos - 52 photos taken of students saving energy (29x Facebook competition entries, 23x halls visits) • Likes - 250 individual photo likes by friends • National competition – 1 Students entered • Energy reductions - average 10%
